There are certain symptoms and signs that make us suspect that a pain is probably neuropathic such as pain when touching the skin, pain when rubbing the sheets on the area, the sensation of cramping or cramps..., however, this type of situation should be assessed by a pain specialist.
Can I develop neuropathic pain after spinal surgery?
Yes, both in the lumbar wound area and in some of the legs. This is a delicate situation and deserves a detailed assessment by a multiple set of specialists. In many occasions, a new surgery on the spine does not fix this situation (and in a few others it even worsens it).
